Anyone interested in dancing can learn the popular Swing Dance style in a vintage setting this summer through next year as Historic Columbia Foundation continues to host instructional classes and dances monthly at the historic Big Apple, 1000 Hampton Street. Columbia dance favorites Richard Durlach and Breedlove plan to take dancers back to the era of the Big Apple Dance Club. Richard and Breedlove teach, perform, and research swing, ballroom and vintage dances along with studying dance culture. It was at the Big Apple club where the Big Apple dance craze began, becoming one of the most popular dances of the 20th century.

Along came a beauty named Belle who desired more out of her provincial town than an ordinary existence. How Belle handles the advances of the pompous Gaston, learns to love the castle’s enchanted objects and, unbeknownst to her, works to tame the Beast, is wrapped in melodious tunes and unbelievable spectacle.

Go backstage for an up-close look at a Broadway production with this entertaining documentary that follows hopeful dancers as they audition for coveted spots in the 2006 revival of "A Chorus Line." Drawing parallels between the interactions of the aspiring actors and the events of the play, filmmakers Adam Del Deo and James D. Stern also intercut interview footage of composer Marvin Hamlisch and dancers from the original Broadway production.

Vox Arcana is a new trio formed by percussionist Tim Daisy, and includes two mainstays from the Chicago improvised music scene, James Falzone, clarinet and Fred Lonberg-Holm, cello. The band performs an original composition by Tim Daisy inspired by the exhibition Cleve Gray: Man and Nature. Thomas Crouch provides an improvisational painting performance.
