Visitors who come to the Isle of Palms have many options for beach access and parking. The City offers more than 50 beach access paths. Note that driving on the beach or on beach access paths is strictly prohibited.
City Parking Lots on Pavilion: The City maintains two parking lots close to Front Beach on Pavilion Avenue. One lot offers handicapped parking and season-long parking for those with a decal. The other lot offers daily parking for a nominal fee. During the beach season, lot attendants will provide directions.

Handicapped Parking: Those who require parking designated as handicapped will find it available in the County Park (fee charged), one City lot on Pavilion, on 9th Avenue and on 21st Avenue.
Metered Spaces: Visitors will find metered parking on Ocean Boulevard near Front Beach between 10th and 14th Avenues. Park in any open space, and locate the meter closest to you. Choose and purchase the appropriate amount of time, and then place the receipt on the dashboard of the vehicle so that it is readable through the windshield. The meters are enforced from 8:00AM to 6:00PM during the beach season from mid-March to early October.
Road Right-of-Ways: Visitors can park their vehicles on any road right-of-way unless it has been designated with a sign as "no parking". Be mindful that all four wheels must be off the road and that no beach access paths can be blocked. Do not block driveways or mailboxes, and please be respectful of landscaping.

PARKING REGULATIONS:
1. No parking on pavement. All 4 tires must be off the road.
2. No parking on sidewalks.
3. No parking in front of public or private driveways.
4. No parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant
5. No parking in a crosswalk.
6. No stopping, standing, or parking in a roadway
7. No diagonal parking unless posted. All parking is parallel.
8. No parking on dunes or revetments.
9. No parking the wrong way. All vehicles must park with the flow of traffic.
10. No parking in Handicapped spaces unless visible handicapped license tag or permit on vehicle.
DOGS are not allowed on the beach from 10 am to 6 pm from May 1st to September 30th. At all other times they must be leashed and under control. Pick up and remove your dogs waste from the beach.
NO OPEN CONTAINERS OF ALCOHOL are allowed.
NO GLASS containers are allowed on the beach.
NO OPEN FIRES or FIREWORKS are allowed at any time.
NO LITTERING. IF YOU ARE GOING TO THE BEACH, PLEASE BRING GARBAGE BAGS AND TAKE TRASH TO CONTAINERS FOUND AT EACH BEACH ACCESS. Have BEACH PRIDE and help us keep our beaches clean so you and others can enjoy it now and for years to come.
SURFING without a leash is prohibited. From May 15th to Sept. 15th surfing is prohibited from 10 am to 6 pm from 2nd Street East to 3rd Street West, known as the swimming zone. From September 16th to May 14th, surfing is allowed in any area except surfing is always prohibited 200’ from the fishing pier.

Just Beachy! Walk the beautiful unspoiled beach at Kiawah Beachwalker Park, located on the west end of Kiawah Island. This park offers ocean frontage and a river view, along with the only public beach access on beautiful Kiawah Island. Lifeguards are on duty seasonally along a beachfront designated swimming area. What a strange looking lighthouse! Sullivan's Island is a barrier island and is one of the most relaxing, family-friendly beaches on the coast!
