Crowns

A one act multiple scenes play. Crowns captures a cut of the cultural heritage of Black Americans that reaches through slavery in the US back to Africa. It's the story of Yolanda, a street-smart kid from Brooklyn, who is sent to live with her grandmother in Darlington, SC. The gospel-singing, Sunday-go-to-meeting folks she encounters give Yolanda a new perspective on life.
