Columbia Blues Festival!
The Colonial Center will host the First Annual Columbia Blues Festival on
Friday, March 16, at 8pm. The much-anticipated event features the soulful,
emotional sounds of some of the Blues' most-beloved artists as well as some
highly acclaimed up-and-coming performers. Included in the evening's line
up are performances by Blackville, S.C., native Marvin Sease and Theodis Ealey,
who's single “Stand Up in It,” held the number one spot on Billboard's R &
B charts for five consecutive weeks. Also scheduled to perform are Clarence
Carter, Shirley Brown, Latimore, Mel Waiters and Roy C. Blues legend Bobby
“Blue” Bland is sure to be the highlight of the evening for many Blues fans.
Bland has been a mainstay on the Blues scene since the 1950s and is best known
for hits like “Cry Cry Cry”, “I Pity the Fool,” and “Turn on Your Love Light.”
