| Through December 30, 2007 | Lights Before Christmas It snows every night at Riverbanks Zoo where you’ll find well over half a million twinkling lights each evening from 6 to 9 pm. A holiday tradition for 20 years, Riverbanks Zoo transforms into a winter wonderland for families to enjoy. Take photos with Santa at Riverbanks’ Holiday Village, roast warm and gooey marshmallows while sipping hot cocoa at the Jingle Bell Bonfire and stroll along the brilliantly illuminated paths throughout the Zoo. Admission is free for Society members and general admission is $5 for children and $7 for adults. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at www.riverbanks.org or at the Zoo entrance. | Throughout the Year! | Wild Safari 3D: A South African Adventure This 20-minute ultimate real-life adventure will put you in the passenger seat of an open air vehicle on a quest to see some of the most dangerous and spectacular animals in Africa up-close: the elephant, the Cape buffalo and the rhino. Wild Safari 3D is a landmark conservation film and the first wildlife documentary to be filmed in thrilling 3D. Daily show times are on the hour from 10am to 4pm. All ages are invited to take a walk into the keeper's area and get a behind-the-scenes look into the wonderful world of animal care and training. Meet a penguin. Encounter a reptile. Tour the animal hospital. Adventure Tours are offered on Saturdays and Sundays only. Most tours can accommodate 1-8 participants; the Africa barn tour can accommodate 1-20 participants.
