| Description of Event:: |
It is a tantalizing idea: a shriveled mummy that has lain neglected on a dusty museum shelf at Niagara Falls could be the remnants of a long-lost Egyptian Pharaoh. While a trail of clues hints at how the looted mummy made its way to North America a century and a half ago, archaeologists go to Emory University to employ the latest imaging and DNA techniques in hopes of confirming the body’s hidden identity. Their results provide compelling evidence that the mummy may indeed be that of Ramesses I, founder of ancient Egypt’s most illustrious dynasty. This amazing story of historical intrigue and forensic science concludes as the mummy takes its rightful place alongside royal relatives in an Egyptian museum, a fitting solution to a 3,000 year-old puzzle. In 1570 B.C., Rome was a marsh, the Acropolis an empty rock, but Egypt was 1,000 years old. The pyramid-builders were gone, yet Egypt still awaited its New Kingdom, an empire forged by conquest and remembered for eons. Egypt’s Golden Empire comes to life through letters and records evoking the passion and riches of a time when Egypt was the center of the known world, its Pharaohs called gods, and great cities, temples and tombs built. MILK MUSTACHE MOBILE TOUR VISITS COLUMBIA IN SEARCH OF AMERICA’S FIRST-EVER “CHIEF HEALTH OFFICER” Rewarding One Lucky Mom for Keeping her Family Healthy and Fit With Her Own got milk? Milk Mustache Ad WHAT: Mothers have always had a lot on their plate. From carpool queen to coach, counselor to chef, she’s charged with many roles for her family. But with the ongoing concerns over childhood obesity and inadequate nutrition, many moms have taken on another important role, that of Chief Health Officer. As her family’s Chief Health Officer, mom is a key player in keeping everyone active and making smart food and beverage choices – including serving lowfat or fat free milk, which offers a mix of essential nutrients. For the first time ever, the famed-Milk Mustache Mobile Tour is hosting the Chief Health Officer Contest which invites local Columbia residents to record a 30-second “mom-ination” video explaining why their mom – or a mom they know – is Columbia’s Chief Health Officer. Columbia’s Chief Health Officer will then have a chance to be crowned America’s Chief Health Officer and receive the chance to appear in her very own Milk Mustache ad. And as an added bonus, local Columbia residents can also enter into our Chief Health Officer sweepstakes, which will also reward a mom a $100,000 salary she “richly” deserves! | Description of Event:: |
