See images of the recovery process of a World War II bomber that had been at the bottom of Lake Murray, South Carolina for more than 62 years until it was finally recovered in 2005.  Photographs, artifacts from the plane and a computer with multiple images of the entire recovery process will be on display. 

McKissick Museum will honor the life and work of the late Helen Hill, a Columbia native who was an experimental artist, animator, filmmaker and activist, in an exhibit. Hill was murdered in January 2007 by an unknown intruder in her New Orleans home; her murder remains unsolved. The exhibit, titled "The Dresses of Florestine Kinchen: A Tribute to Helen Hill," explores Hill's last film, which is about Florestine Kinchen, a self-taught, African-American seamstress, and the dresses she created. From bathing suits and beach pails to hotel ballrooms, this exhibit details the early development of the Carolina coast as a summer destination for tourists and South Carolinians.  Visitors will explore the traditions, folklore and changing fashions associated with that annual summer trip to the beach. 

Tickets are $5.50 for adults, $4.50 for seniors, $2.50 for children 10 and older. Early twentieth century table cloths and runners, doilies, guest towels, embroidery, crochet and tatting.

 Pearl Jam announced a ten date East Coast tour which will visit the Colonial Center on Saturday, June 16, 2008. Pearl Jam was born out of Seattle's beloved Mother Love Bone. After years of work, success became imminent when the '90s grunge movement went into full swing. Despite their status as rock-'n'-roll superstars, the band refused to succumb to the accepted conventions of the music industry. More than 15 years later, they're still rocking out all over the world. Public on-sale dates and ticket information will be announced in local markets in the coming week.
